Biogenesis of NIS. FRTL-5 cells were pulsed for 5 min with [35S]methionine and chased for the indicated time spans. Cells were harvested and immunoprecipitated with either pre-immune (lane 1) or immune (lanes 2–5) sera as described. Samples were electrophoresed, enhanced, and dried as described. Autoradiogram was exposed for 48 hr at −80°C.
