Fourteen days after immunization with mBSA, mice were sacrificed. The inguinal lymph nodes were removed, and single-cell suspensions were prepared. The LNC (5 × 105 cells/well) were cultured with 0.2 ml of complete culture medium in the absence or presence of either mBSA (100 μg/ml) or ConA (1 μg/ml) in 96-well plates for 72 hr. Proliferative response was measured by 3H-thymidine incorporation. ∗, P < 0.001, IL-6 −/− compared to IL-6 +/+.
