*The plan upon which the work has been carried out is as follows: Dr. Krumwiede had the direct charge of the different parts of the bacteriological work. This was divided among the different persons as follows:—
Isolation work, at first done by all, then transferred to Dr. Montgomery; after his leaving continued and finished by Drs. Thro and Anthony.
Virulence work started by Dr. Woglom and later continued and completed by Dr. Anthony, assisted by Miss Blackburn.
Cultural work, transfers, etc., done by Dr. L'Esperance till lately, when continued by Miss Blackburn.
Smith reaction by Dr. Grund.
The material furnished us has come chiefly from the Babies, St. Mary's and Memorial Hospitals. The Foundling Asylum and the Post Graduate Hospital furnished some additional cases. Our sincere thanks are due to Dr. Holt and Dr. Hemingway for the Babies Hospital material and to Dr. Dowd for the surgical material. The material from the adult pulmonary cases was furnished by the Metropolitan and Riverside Hospitals.
