Bacteroides induces the expression of MHC and co-stimulatory molecules by APCs more effectively than Lactobacillus. Thy1.2 cells were isolated from MLN cells of germ-free Balb/c mice by using MACS. These cells (2.5 × 106 cells) were stimulated with LA or BA (50 μg/ml) for 24 h. The surface phenotype (MHC II (I-Ad), CD80, CD86) of the cells was analyzed by flow cytometry.
