AdExTek inhibits the growth of lung metastases after coadministration with tumor cells. (Left) AdExTek inhibits the appearance of grossly visible lung metastasis. Murine mammary tumor cells (4T1) or murine melanoma cells (B16F10.9) were mixed with AdExTek or Ad.Pacβ-gal and coadministered i.v. into BALB/c or C57/BL mice, respectively. Twenty to 25 days later, the mice were sacrificed, and the lungs were harvested, fixed in Bouin’s solution, and photographed. Arrows indicate tumor metastases. (Right) Histologic comparison of metastases from mice treated with AdExTek or AdPacβ-gal. Hematoxylin/eosin-stained lung sections from mice with 4T1 tumors or B16F10.9 tumors. Magnification: ×40.
