PSA is endocytosed by TLR2^−/− BMDCs. BMDCs were incubated for 3 h with fluorescent PSA (red) molecules. The cells were fixed and stained with a mAb specific for MHCII protein (green). Both WT and TLR2^−/− cells endocytosed PSA in a manner that resulted in colocalization (arrow, yellow) with MHCII protein. MHCII expression was not dependent on the presence of TLR2^−/− under these conditions. Bars, 10 μm.
