An HO-liberated LEU2::ADE1 fragment could gene convert a leu2-3,112::ade1-E target locus to produce His+ colonies that were also Leu+ and/or Ade+ (Fig. 1B). In the experiment shown, 14,380 His+ colonies were examined. Each colony type is shown as two half-sectors. Those that are identical to the left and right of the slash were not sectored, while those that are nonidentical are colonies that were actually sectored.
