The synthesis of the Pir2/Hsp150 protein is induced by heat shock and osmotin in sensitive yeast cells. (Upper) Newly synthesized proteins in BWG7a cells (lanes 1 and 2) and an isogenic Δpir2 derivative (lane 3) were labeled with [35S]methionine at either 23°C (lane 1) or 37°C (lanes 2 and 3) for 1 hr.
