Extracellular regions of RPTPβ promote neuronal adhesion and neurite outgrowth. Primary chick tectal cells were plated on purified βCFS or βCF fusion proteins (80 μg/ml), Ng-CAM (20 μg/ml), and anti-Ng-CAM monoclonal antibody 4B9 (100 μg/ml of IgG) and incubated for 48 h.
