Early and late replicating chromatin distribute in distinct compartments in the nuclei of CCL-39 cells. After synchronous release into S phase, cells were pulse labelled with BrdU immediately before harvesting at hourly intervals. BrdU-DNA was visualized by indirect immunofluorescence.
