L1 staining is reduced in the pyramidal tracts and lateral columns in the spinal cords of ankyrinB (−/−) mice. Transverse sections of spinal cords at thoracic vertebrae 8 of normal littermate (top row) and ankyrinB (−/−) (bottom row) mice were double stained with an antibody against the ankyrinB COOH terminus cross-reacting with all known ankyrinB polypeptides (left column) and an antibody against L1 (middle column).
