Arrowheads indicate the neocentromere (closed) and chromosome (open) used for the data presented in Fig. 5. The asterisk identifies a neocentromere that appeared to accelerate the movement of its linked kinetochore (the neocentromere is slightly out of the focal plane in the image taken at 0 min).
