Targeting of the TGN residual protein–GFP fusion protein in mouse DRG neurons. 40 h after infection with the adenovirus vector carrying TGN-38–GFP chimeric DNA, the living cells were examined by serial Z-sectioning and the maximum Z projection was reconstituted. Most of the TGN-38–GFP molecules were localized within the cell body as perinuclear clusters. In addition, we observed fine dots in the cytoplasm (note that they are not the transporting vesicles). We found that a small amount of the TGN-38–GFP was expressed on the plasma membrane of the cell body and the axons. Bar, 50 μm.
