Schematic representation of the steps of proPC2 posttranslational maturation in which 7B2 is involved. (1) 7B2 binds to folded proPC2 but not to unfolded proPC2. (2) The proPC2–7B2 complex formed in the ER is transported to the Golgi at a higher rate than proPC2 is alone (double arrow).
