All rates are in μmol per 10⁹ cells per hr ± standard error. The rate of [3-¹³C]glutamine consumption was calculated by using data from Stage 1 and Stage 2. Cells were perfused with l-[3-¹³C]glutamine and d-[1,6-¹³C₂]glucose twice. These data are from one representative experiment. Data in Figs. 3D, 4, and 5 A and B are from the same experiment.
