Cbi salvaging by the cbiB cobU ycfN mutant is partially restored when the expression of CbiB is increased. In these experiments, AdoCbi-P nucleotidyltransferase was provided in trans by a plasmid carrying the CobY enzyme from Methanosarcina mazei strain Gö1. Cbl-dependent growth of serovar Typhimurium strains was assessed in minimal medium supplemented with glycerol, Cbi, and DMB.
