Groups of B7KO mice were immunized s.c. with the indicated virus or were left unimmunized, then challenged intravaginally 1 month later with wild-type HSV-2. BALB/c mice immunized with 5BlacZ were a positive control for immunization. Titers from daily swabs of the vagina were determined for the viral titer shed from the mucosa.
