2A and bicistronic plasmids. (A) Reporter construct pF/R has been described previously (4). p2A-F/R is a tri-cistronic derivative plasmid, which additionally encodes EMCV 2A, as described in Materials and Methods. (B) After transfection of HeLa cells, expressed luciferase activities (RLuc or FLuc) were monitored in cell lysates by standard protocols.
