The amino acid sequences are obtained from the following sources: Mms2 (Broomfield et al., 1998); hMms2 (Xiao et al., 1998); Uev1A and Uev1B (Rothofsky and Lin, 1997). The corrected Uev1A sequence as reported previously (Deng et al., 2000) was used for alignment.
