Reduced activity of FIAT transgenic osteoblasts. Primary cultures of osteoblasts were obtained from 6–8-d-old calvaria (A and B) or 3-mo-old bone marrow stromal cells (C and D). Cells were assayed for AP level after 7 d or stained with alizarin red after 14 d. Number of samples assayed is indicated within each bar. AP concentration was normalized by protein concentration per well (A and C).
