NUP53 mutants. NH2- and COOH-terminal truncations of Nup53p were designed as shown with amino acid residues listed on the left. Δ405–430 indicates the deletion of these residues. The Nup53-cNLS and Nup53-mut-cNLS constructs contain insertions encoding either the SV-40 T-antigen cNLS (underlined) or a mutant of the cNLS (mut-cNLS) in place of residues 405–430.
