Phenotypes of cta4 Δ . (A) Disruption of cta4 + confers a temperature-sensitive phenotype and causes an imbalance in cation homeostasis. Cells were serially diluted in fivefold steps, spotted onto YES plates containing cations as indicated, and incubated for 3 d at 25, 30, or 36°C. Strains used were Fy1180, Hu185, and Hu285.
