Reduced body weight in the MG29-deficient mice. Male mice were weaned at 4 wk of age, and their body weight was measured every week. Each value (n = 16) represents the mean ± SEM. Significant differences between the groups were observed by t test (asterisk indicates P < 0.05; two asterisks indicate P < 0.01). The values for the heterozygous mutants were intermediate between those of the homozygous mutants and wild-type mice (data not shown). Results observed in the female mice were essentially similar (data not shown).
