Psy-induced formation of multinuclear cells from U937 and HeLa cells. U937 cells were incubated with vehicle alone (ethanol) as a control (a and e) or 2 μM Psy (b and f) for 96 h. HeLa cells were incubated with vehicle alone (c and g) or 35 μM Psy (d and h) for 77 h. Nuclei in the cells were stained with propidium iodide, and then the stained cells were observed by confocal laser microscopy (a–d).
