The 16-9 or Q21 cells expressing Hu-IFN-γR1 or Hu-IFN-γR2, respectively, were transfected with the cimeric receptors as indicated in the Table and described in Fig. 1. The various cell lines were tested for Hu-IFN-γ-induced protection against EMCV by a cytopathic effect inhibition assay (45).
