The plot is performed over a sliding window of length 5,000 and a shift of 500, starting at the origin of replication. Above the plot is a representation of the coding strand, either strand A or B, for known genes and ORFs (4). Each box represents the number of genes indicated but does not imply anything about operon structure or spacing of the genes in that region. The shaded box represents the region where the three repeated rDNA operons are coded. The approximate location of the atpA gene is also indicated.
