Plot of (T − A)/(T + A) of strand A for all noncoding regions greater than 30 nucleotides in length. The noncoding regions are numbered from 1 to 75, starting at the origin of replication and proceeding downstream. These numbers represent the order of the regions but not genome location. The relative location and nucleotides of the atpA gene, which is located between noncoding regions 40 and 41, are indicated to show the genome location at which the symmetry changes in Fig. 1.
