All plasmids are derived from the p588 plasmid (8) that consists of the two replication origins, oriP and oriLyt, the TR packaging-signal sequences, the EBNA1 gene, and the hygromycin-resistance gene (hyg). The other constructs carry a phenotypic marker (GFP in p2124 and MDR1 in p2194) or lack the TR packaging-signal sequences, as in p2122.
