For the three experimental conditions (50%, 75% or 25% cue validity), the mean reaction times and error rates are indicated with their standard deviations (SD). Responses to S₂ stimuli could be either validly (valid) or invalidly (invalid) cued by the S₁ stimulus. The S₂ stimulus appeared at one of four possible positions on the screen.
