Neither 5-HT2A receptors nor opioid receptors mediate the antinociceptive effects of taltirelin. The 5-HT2A receptor antagonist ketanserin (ket; 0.3 and 1 mg kg−1 in (a)) or the opioid receptor antagonist naloxone HCl (nal; 10 mg kg−1 in (b)) was administered i.p. 15 min before the administration of taltirelin hydrate (1 mg kg−1,administered at time zero). Each point represents the mean (±s.e.m.) result from six mice. Ordinates: mean normalized tail flick latencies (tail flick test; left) and nociceptive thresholds (tail pressure test; right).
