In addition to the above quantitation, numbers of pairs of sister chromatids showing separation were also counted in polo 10 cells in the presence and absence of colchicine. Of 272 chromatid pairs scored in untreated polo 10 cells, 17.2% were separated, compared with 17.0% of 176 chromatid pairs scored in colchicine-treated preparations. 40% of untreated polo 10 cells had at least one separated pair of sister chromatids. This figure was similar (36.6%) after colchicine treatment.
