Human monocytes were used at 10⁶ per ml. LL-37 peptide at the specified concentrations was added to the lower wells of the chemotaxis chamber, and monocytes in the absence or presence of the specified concentration of LL-37 peptide were added to the upper wells of the chemotaxis chamber. The average (mean ± SD) of migrated monocytes of triplicate wells is shown as no./HPF. *P < 0.05 and ^‡ P < 0.01 as compared with spontaneous monocyte migration (in bold type).
