Cockroach antigen sensitization and challenge was performed as described in Materials and Methods. Lungs were collected and dispersed 24 h after the final intratracheal challenge, and then subjected to flow cytometric analysis. Values are means ± SD derived from four individual mice. The reduction in total cell numbers in CCR8−/− was due to decreased eosinophil recruitment (CCR8+/+, 25.5 ± 5% versus CCR8−/−, 14 ± 4%). Control and knockout mice were on inbred 129 background.
