Variable responses by diverse inbred strains to K/B×N serum-transferred arthritis. Mice of each strain (4–5-wk-old males) were injected with serum from arthritic K/B×N animals (7.5 μl per gram body weight) on days 0 and 2. Arthritis was evaluated by measuring “clinical index” and “ankle thickening” (see Materials and Methods) every day until day 21. Data from representative, multiple experiments are shown, each curve representing an individual mouse.
