Histograms show D^d expression on NK cells from control PBS-injected D^d × MxCre (left), polyI/C injected D^d × MxCre (middle), and polyI/C injected D^d single Tg mice (right). Freshly isolated nylon-wool nonadherent splenocytes (a) or cultures established thereof (10 d in IL-2 containing medium) (b) were stained with mAbs to Ly49A, NK1.1, CD3, and D^d and analyzed by four color flow cytometry. Ly49A⁻ (top) and Ly49A⁺ (bottom) NK cells (NK1.1⁺CD3⁻) were separately analyzed for D^d expression. Numbers in histograms indicate the percentages of NK cells with low D^d expression.
