dATP-inducible caspase activation in neutrophil cell-free extracts is cytochrome c dependent. Jurkat and neutrophil cell-free extracts were immunodepleted of cytochrome c as described in Materials and Methods. Mock- or cytochrome c–depleted extracts were assessed for their ability to support dATP- or cytochrome c/dATP-inducible caspase activation by incubation for 1 h at 37°C as indicated (dATP was added to 1 mM and cytochrome c to 50 μg/ml final concentrations).
