fruK expression of the two biofilm-defective double mutants, fruK/fruR and fruK/fruI. Cultures were grown at 37°C under anaerobic conditions in BM containing different levels of fructose, with and without glucose. The β-galactosidase activities of the fruK-lacZ transcriptional fusion in the two double mutants were quantified by using MUG (12).
