Thymocytes, splenocytes, and lymph node cells were isolated from 8-wk-old C57BL/6 (n = 3), BALB/c (n = 12), and BALB/c TRAIL^−/− mice (n = 11). Cell suspensions were stained with antibodies to CD4, CD8, CD3, and TCR Vβ3, Vβ5, Vβ6, or Vβ8. (A) Histograms demonstrate expression of TCR Vβ3, TCR Vβ5, TCR Vβ6, or TCR Vβ8 on CD4⁺ CD3^high or CD8⁺ CD3^high thymocytes. (B) TCR Vβ3, TCR Vβ5, TCR Vβ6, or TCR Vβ8 cells as a percentage of CD3⁺CD4⁺CD8⁻ and CD3⁺CD4⁻CD8⁺ subsets of thymocytes, splenocytes, and peripheral lymph node cells.
