The geometry giving rise to the osmotic pressure attraction. The glass sphere is bound to the glass plate at a single point through a biotin–avidin–biotin connection (“pivot”). The surfaces are covered with a monolayer of BSA, and we introduce BSA in solution. We work in a range of pH in which BSA is negatively charged.
