Groups of TKK mice were injected with α-hPLT 3 h before LCMV Arm infection (10⁶ pfu per mouse). After 3 days, one group received 6 × 10⁸ B6 PLT, and another group received 6 × 10⁸ CD40L^−/− PLT. Mice receiving NaCl alone or α-Irr before LCMV infection served as controls. Platelet counts (mean ± SD) were assessed individually 1 day after transfusion. Survival and Hct (mean ± SD) were assessed individually 5 days after infection.
