The functional domains of TEL (HLH at the amino terminus and ETS domain at the carboxyl terminus) are shaded. The numbers below TEL represent the nucleotide positions used for the construction of the mutants. The type and the extent of each deletion is indicated by the numbers in the parenthesis, in the remaining lines. (Right) Yeast cells were cotransformed with pGAD-UBC9 and one of the various pGBT9-TEL plasmids. Liquid β-galactosidase assay were used as described in Materials and Methods.
