Table 2.

Correlation between inhibition of HIV-1 (Bal)-mediated fusion and CD4–CCR5 interactions by anti-CCR5 mAbs

mAb Fusion inhibition, % CD4–CCR5 inhibition, %
None 0 0
5C7 0 0
5C7 + 2D7 49 40
m180 0 0
m180 + m181 7 12
m180 + m182 16 10
m180 + m183 2 0

A mixture of the anti-CCR5 mAb 5C7 with 2D7 or m180 with m181, m182, or m183 (3 μg/ml for each antibody) was used. The signal intensity for each CD4 band is presented as a percentage of the signal produced in the absence of inhibiting antibody.
