(A) Human C1R B lymphoblastoid cells transfected with the indicated CD1 genes were pulsed with 10 μg/ml MPI, labeled with ⁵¹Cr, and lysed by the CD8-1 T cell line with an effecter target ratio of 20:1. (B) CD1c-mediated IL-2 production in response to DCs treated with total lipid extracts from mycobacteria was measured using the HT-2 bioassay. (C) CD1c-mediated IL-2 release was measured in response to C₃₀ MPI compounds purified from M. avium and C₉₅ MPDs made from human dolichol.
