Fungal growth in the organs of IL-4−/− and IL-4+/+ mice injected with 5 × 105 (solid colums) or 2 × 105 (dotted columns) CA-6 cells (Systemic infection) or 108 CA-6 cells (Gastrointestinal infection). Enumeration of yeast cells recovered from the kidneys of mice with systemic infection or from the stomach and kidneys of mice with gastrointestinal infection was performed at different days after infection. In the gastrointestinal infection, yeast cell counts in the kidneys were performed 4 d after intravenous reinfection with 5 × 106 CA-6.
