AA dependency of PG formation in the cell homogenates of P. falciparum. P. falciparum FCR3 strain was grown in medium with the addition of 33 μM AA for 48 h before harvesting. The parasite homogenates were incubated at 37°C for 30 min with various concentrations of AA added exogenously. The amounts of PGs produced were quantified as described under Materials and Methods.
