Thymocyte suspensions from Egr/AND and NL/AND mice on either H-2^b/b, β2m⁰, or class II MHC–deficient (II^o) backgrounds were stained for CD4, CD8, AND transgenic β chain (Vβ3), and PNAr, and analyzed by flow cytometry. CD4/CD8 plots of cells gated on Vβ3^high, PNAr^low are shown. Numbers in the profiles indicate the averages of the absolute cell numbers of positive cells within a quadrant. N.D., No cell detectable.
