A sustained light was used to stimulate photoreceptors dialyzed with the control (left) or the BAPTA-containing intracellular solution (right). BAPTA did not attenuate the relaxation of the photocurrent as the light intensity increased. The ratio peak/plateau photocurrent amplitude at each light intensity is plotted on the bottom. No statistically significant differences were detected. Unattenuated light intensity: 7.3 × 10¹⁴ photons · cm⁻² · s⁻¹; holding potential: −30 mV.
