The experimental mice were individually caged, and food intake was measured from −12 d to −4 d, and average food consumption was calculated. Beginning on d 0, a calculated amount of food representing 50% CR was given to the mice daily at 1500 h for 40 d; then the mice were switched back to ad libitum feeding.
