ATLa2 inhibits both PMA- and LTB4-induced PMN infiltration by topical application. ATLa2 was applied topically (20 μg in 10 μl acetone) to the left mouse ear or delivered intravenously (10 μg in 100 μl of 0.9% sterile saline) through the tail vein. Inflammation was induced in left and right ears by topical application of either LTB4 (1 μg) or PMA (100 ng) in acetone (10 μl). Punch biopsies were obtained after 24 hr and myeloperoxidase activity was measured as an index of PMN number in the ear. Values represent mean ± SEM (n = 3). ∗, P < 0.05 Student’s two-tailed t test.
