ATLa₂ inhibits both PMA- and LTB₄-induced PMN infiltration by topical application. ATLa₂ was applied topically (20 μg in 10 μl acetone) to the left mouse ear or delivered intravenously (10 μg in 100 μl of 0.9% sterile saline) through the tail vein. Inflammation was induced in left and right ears by topical application of either LTB₄ (1 μg) or PMA (100 ng) in acetone (10 μl). Punch biopsies were obtained after 24 hr and myeloperoxidase activity was measured as an index of PMN number in the ear. Values represent mean ± SEM (n = 3). ∗, P < 0.05 Student’s two-tailed t test.
