Results are shown for culture density (A550) (▴) and β-galactosidase activity (MU, Miller units; AU, arbitrary units) (bars) of planktonic cell culture (top) and of biofilm (bottom) P. aeruginosa K2589 (K1120::PA4570-lacZ) cells as a function of decreasing FeCl3 concentrations. Cells were grown for 12 h at 37°C. Error bars represent the standard errors of the means for a representative assay performed in at least triplicate.
